A windy rope access inspection day offshore. I found this footage on a hard drive and decided to make a video where you can see how the rope access training video's I have been releasing here at The Rope Access Channel relate to the real offshore world. You can see how all the safety equipment actually makes it harder to climb safely. This was filmed about 4 years ago in december. Pretty cold, so many layers of clothing underneath that coverall, add an inflatable life jacke, a radio and a camera and soon it will be hard to see which rope leads where below the chest ascender.
I really liked this job, climbing around alone with no one really having a visual. Radio contact every few minutes and that was it. Lovely day out at sea :-)
