This was probably my fault... as that afternoon while looking from the rim at Crater Lake down into the bluest water I had ever seen, I said something dumb along the lines of "wouldn't this place be pretty in the snow?" Hmmmmmmmmm Mazama Campground can surprise you with weather! Be prepared! We woke up to snow falling and it was going to be our travel day. Without cell service, we had no idea how much snow was expected or how long it was going to last.
