This video shows how to practice the skill of blending the sounds in a word to read! Right now we are focusing on CVC words (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant words), and we use these cards from amazon during our Phonemic Awareness time in class, and in one of their Literacy Centers.

This is Part 2 which focuses on blending letters to practice the skill of Reading. If your child struggles with sounding out CVC words when reading, this is a great video for you!

Here is how I do it:
Blending letters into sounds for reading:
1.) Show the CVC word
2.) Point to the letters and say the sound that each letter makes.
3.) Blend the sounds together slowly,
4.) Think about the sounds that you said, and say the word. Does the word make sense? If not, what would make sense? :)
