Hello everyone! Phone charging does not work. How do I find out what the reason is? In the charger itself or maybe in the USB cord? In this video, I'll show you how to figure it out in just one minute! You can do such a check using a multimeter, but it is much more accurate, faster and more informative to use a USB tester! I will use the FNIRSI FNB58 USB tester. By clicking on the link below, you will be able to purchase this latest generation USB tester with many additional useful features.

I will also assemble one very useful device with which you can fairly accurately assess the condition of the charger and the USB cord. It will work together with a USB tester. I will solder this scheme with the help of volumetric (hinged) mounting. But today I will have a homemade soldering iron - a soldering iron made of a resistor! In one of the previous videos I showed how to make such a soldering iron and what it is capable of. Just below there will be a link to this video and, if desired, you can watch it.
The device that I will solder today is called a resistive load. Just to measure what voltage at the output of the charger is not enough. It is necessary to know what current the charging provides, whether there are any losses in the USB cable, and so on. All these indicators can be found out when using a resistive or test load.
This device will require a minimum of details: 4 LEDs and 8 resistors (4 load and 4 current limiting for the LED), as well as a pair of USB ports. After assembly, the resistive load does not need to be adjusted and it can be used immediately in work. The maximum indicators provided by the resistive load are: current consumption - 1.5 amperes and power - 8 watts. You can see all the details on the assembly and testing of this device in this video.
