Today I'm going to try a ridge hike in Okutama, the outskirts of Tokyo. Takamizu Three Peaks Hiking Course travels in an arch, starting at Ikusabata Station and climbing Mt. Takamizu, Mt. Iwatake Ishiyama, and Mt. Sogaku before ending at Mitake Station. All three mountains, known as the Takamizu Three Peaks, are each 700-meters-high and are relatively easy to climb, but because of the spectacular scenery which can be enjoyed from their summits, this hiking course is recommended as one of the best for beginners in the Okutama area. It can also be easily accessed from Tokyo, which makes it even more attractive.
