*PLEASE READ*
Hey there! Since this video is getting a lot more attention than anticipated, I’ve gotten a lot of constructive feedback that I’d like to address and compile below:

1) Credit the original/support small businesses.
Yes! This is incredibly important. If you have the means, please support Hope Macaulay by purchasing her pieces. Her sweaters are truly iconic and are made with incredibly high quality material and craftsmanship and are probably worth every penny!

I did not do my due diligence when filming/making the video to provide proper credit so please check out her shop/instagram:

2) Problems with roving
This is a subject I had no idea was so controversial, which clearly shows I did not do enough research before making this video. Thank you to those who brought awareness to these topics!

As mentioned at the end of this video, roving is unspun material that lacks structure and has the tendency to pill/shed/fall apart if used to create a chunky sweater or a blanket. It’s far too expensive of a material for people to end up with a hand knit piece that will only last a season.

This is something I should’ve included at the beginning of the video as a disclaimer rather than tossed on at the end.

Some folks in the comments provided some better alternatives which I’ve linked here:
Chunky Chenille Yarn:

https://www.michaels.com/bernat-blank...
Chunky Velvet Yarn:
https://becozi.net/products/plush-and...
https://www.joann.com/bernat-velvet-p...

If these aren’t chunky enough for you, or if they’re not as accessible, you can also double up on the strands with a thinner thread to achieve a similar thickness and added coziness!

3) Proper care
If you choose to use roving (wool or synthetic) despite these disclaimers, you must hand wash/hang dry your cardi/sweater. Do not throw it in the washer/dryer if you do not want to end up with a pile of indiscernible fluff.

4) I am hand knitting in this video - not crocheting
I am a dum dum and did not know the difference. Knit stitches are “V” shaped and often used with two needles, while crochet stitches are more similar to knots and often used with a hook!

5) Support my friend Sarah Pan, who also made a DIY video for this sweater:

Thank you for watching/supporting/giving feedback! Most of the comments are incredibly nice and I appreciate the constructive criticism. Thank you for helping me make this channel better :)
