Advantages of Peritoneal Dialysis
• Natural filter
• More time for yourself
• Less restricted diet
• PD controls high potassium and excess water

Problems of Peritoneal Dialysis
• Peritoneal membrane infection (CAPD Peritonitis) Turbid PD effluent
• Need support for doing Peritoneal Dialysis exchanges
• Permanent catheter in the abdomen
• Abdomen fullness causing breathlessness
• Significant protein loss in Peritoneal Dialysis
• Vegetarians patients find difficulty in completing protein loss

Advantages of Hemodialysis
• Very useful in emergency cases
• Better clearance in hemodialysis and less chance of failure
