만들고 짓고 놀고... 도서관이 달라졌어요

Libraries are generally thought to be spaces for quiet study.
But some libraries are now moving away from this stereotype and turning into places for a range of projects and programs.
Lee Eun-jin has the story.
Not all libraries are a place of silence.
This library has a studio where students can play music far from the usual home-school-academy routine.

1: "I come to this library to rest and do what I want,... rather than studying."
2: "This is the place to come when I want to clear my mind. It's relaxing."

This library also attracts students who want space to practice their talent in craft making.

This is another unique library that's nestled in deep in a forest,
along a hiking trail.
It is a space exclusively for poetry.
Hikers become fans of poetry and poets get to appreciate nature.

"I come here often because I feel like these short pieces of writing purify my heart."

This library also teaches poetry writing.
And for aspiring poets, there is a program that rents space for them to write in, where instead of paying rent, poets are required to submit one piece of poetry every month.

"I hope for more writers, publishers, libraries and bookstores... people that read books... book clubs... Such an ecosystem would make a better city."

As libraries continue to move away from being places of silence... they are becoming places of healing for all age groups,... and places for people to focus on their dreams and goals.
