In a genre that is severely lacking horror, Perfect Blue is an amazing example of what can be done through the medium of anime. Mima's tale of self identity coupled with the constant threat of obsession under watchful eyes creates a psychological thriller unlike any before or since. Satoshi Kon was a master of his craft, and his art lives on as a classic and underappreciated film.
