This summer I'm starting to restructure our Starking Delicious Peach Tree. The fruit all ripens in July so it is a good candidate for summer pruning as I don't have to worry about cutting off any fruit and any new growth I stimulate by my pruning should have ample time to harden off before winter. This tree was planted back in 2010, but at least in recent years has been fairly neglected. Today I'm starting the pruning process to grow the tree into longer lasting form. With any luck I will be able to develop a better tree structure that can bear fruit for years to come. Either way, I'll keep you updated!
