There are some things you can count on in Rockaway Beach, Oregon --eclectic shops, restaurants, and several miles of open beach. And original Pronto Pups! Some areas of the beach are quite remote and a good place to find quiet alone time. We have been coming to this beach town for over a decade.

We spent the weekend at Rockaway, and we also explored Oceanside and Netarts.

Per Wikipedia, The community of Rockaway was established as a seaside resort in 1909 and was named after Rockaway Beach on Queens, New York. Rockaway was connected by train to Portland in 1912.
