NISSI + KEREN


R.Nissi Ebenezar Ratnam was born on 15th July 1988. He is the oldest of three children, one brother and one sister and was raised in a Christian family of Pentecostal background.

Apostle Sudhakar, his father, and Survarna Ratnam, his mother are both serving the Lord and pastoring a church in the village Patha Isukapalli, Pithapuram, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India.

From his early childhood his parents taught him about the love of God and encouraged him in the importance of spending more time in prayer, learning the Word of God, and his dependence on the Lord every day.

From his early childhood, Nissi had a burning desire to share the good news of the gospel among his Hindu friends and neighbours.

One Saturday night on the 26th September 1998 when he was just ten years old, Nissi experienced a powerful presence of God and the baptism of the Holy Spirit enabled him to speak in other tongues. An unforgettable experience for one so young. He went on to experience dreams that his father helped explain which led him to be water baptized on 1st January, 2000.

During his teenage years, Nissi was a very diligent student averaging 80 percent in his overall marks. He gained a position in a very reputable college and took mathematics, physics, and chemistry as his major subjects, again gaining excellent marks.

Nissi experienced the challenges that teenage years present but the principles and disciplines taught to him by his parents anchored his faith and kept him true to his desire to serve God.

During his college days he started cell groups with Cristian friends and enthusiastically participated with his father in distributing gospel tracts from door to door. This has given him immense joy and pleasure being able to lead many people to Christ.

Nissi was stirred by the word of God to pray for his nation, and in a dream he felt the Lord’s leading to be one of the labourers that would reap the harvest. This has served as confirmation of his decision to serve God in ministry.

At the time of doing his Masters degree and doing a project for Telecom Nissi was offered a position with a good salary but he remembered the dream and the word about being a labourer for the Harvest. He rejected the offer and decided to join his father in full time ministry.

Nissi has since had many opportunities to preach in their local church as well as crusades and conferences with great giftedness experiencing the power and grace of God touching and changing people’s lives throughout India.

His passion – as fervent today as it was as a young ten year old boy is seeing people find Jesus and grow in their Christian faith.
