How can we advance in reducing air pollution to achieve healthier and more sustainable cities? The IDB Cities Network hosted the second and final webinar "Improving Urban Air Quality”, in the series “Strategies to Address Pollution in Cities of Latin America and the Caribbean.” In this webinar, opportunities and challenges for enhancing urban air quality were explored. The session highlighted Bogotá's Air 2030 Plan as well as pilot projects from the IDB Cities Lab designed to improve air quality in Bogotá, Quito, and Lima. In 2021, poor air quality caused 8.1 million deaths, and the cost was 3.4% of global GDP.
