Today I’m boarding Air Mauritius for the first time ever on its A330-900neo, in business class, from Perth to Mauritius, a really nice 8-hour day flight for sampling the airline’s offering. This was my trip home from Western Australia after having shot a bunch of videos in South Africa including SAA’s momentous relaunch of Johannesburg-Perth flights (link to that one below). Get a quick look at Perth and hear a bit about why I loved it so much, check out the lovely Perth International Airport, and see what it’s like onboard Air Mauritius from food to service to the seats and more.
And I finish things off with my new rating system which boils things down to an overall recommendation: is Air Mauritius A330neo business class a strong buy, one to consider, maybe look elsewhere or avoid at all costs?
Don’t miss the lovely views of Mauritius on approach too – we just managed to catch the last light; it was especially cool that we could see the entire island from the air as we descended!

How I booked it:
This ticket was PER-MRU-CDG-ARN in business class, with a stopover at MRU, using Aeroplan points. It was available for 115,000 miles + $200 but I chose to pay a little more in cash and less in miles and the final cost was 71,000 points + $808 (USD).
