Pro flutist buys $80 flute on a whim. Backup flute was in the shop for COA. Didn't want to travel with main flute. Wanted to play some outdoors while on a road trip.

If this is all you can afford, go for it. Use it until you are sure you want to pursue the flute, and save for the next step up as you go. Get input from your band director or flute teacher when to step up.
