This episode I show you how to convert a Lionel LionChief plus locomotive to run dead rail via a battery. Cleaning the track has always been a daunting task before running trains on the outdoor 3 rail layout.
Baldy & Palms RR has begun a improvement program of converting the locomotive fleet to operate dead rail. This LC+ GP38 Santa Fe 3441 is the first main line locomotive to have the conversion.

Battery is in the trailing boxcar and is tethered to the locomotive. Battery is 2800 aMh lithium-ion battery, controlled with an spst switch under the chassis.
