Some Russian habits, traditions or food seem really strange for people from abroad. This is Hematogen bar. Its main ingredient is albumin, or in simple words, a bull’s blood. In the Soviet Union, it was given to children to increase their iron levels, and to injured Red Army soldiers to help recovery. It's a very popular children and adults' treat.
