Shanghai . . the Oriental Pearl Tower .The Oriental Pearl Tower is no longer the tallest structure in Shanghai. It was surpassed by the Shanghai World Financial Center in 2007.
The Oriental Pearl Tower consists of 3 main whole-scope sightseeing spheres. Visitors can enjoy the dynamic city view at different heights as there are observation decks in each of these 3 spheres. The highest sphere is at 350 meters above sea level, and is called the Space Module. We gave up trying to get to this sphere because of the long queue.
The second sphere is located at 259 to 267 meters above the ground. It has 3 levels. The top one is a revolving restaurant which is the highest revolving restaurant in Asia at 267 meters above sea level. We had buffet lunch here. The lower 2 levels are viewing platforms. From the main sightseeing floor at 263 meters above sea level we descended to 259 meters above sea level in an elevator. Here there is a glass bottomed sightseeing floor where visitors can look down at the Huangpu River and keep the beautiful scenery of both sides of Huangpu River in view. The experience is like standing on air above the Shanghai city. My legs were petrified. I was scared to move.
