Following a lovely lunch in Locarno, the Gotthard Pass was next on the bucket list. The route up to it from the south was fantastic through a long winding valley that followed a raging river in parts.

The pass itself was not as technical as some we would do in the following days but the views were spectacular and worthy of a stop for Nikki to take some photos. Unfortunately, the old pass with its cobbled roads was still closed so we weren't able to sample that one but something to look forward to in the future.

Coming down the far side of Gotthard Pass we encountered a crazy driver who overshot a parking spot and wanted to reverse through use to get to it. No chance on the Goldwing. After a brief stop for some photos at the one for the Grand Tour signs, we then set off back to the hotel. The next day we tackle part of the Furka Pass
