Pruning Viburnum Tinus. In this video I show you the 3 types of pruning for this shrub: 1) Maintenance 2) Height reduction 3) Rejuvenation pruning.
Viburnum Tinus is a great workhorse in the garden and certainly gives both colour and interest to the winter garden. Beautiful tight pink buds appear in Autumn/Fall, followed by flat white flower clusters, followed by blue metallic like berries. It is also a shrub that can be pruned back really hard without killing it. It does get quite tall and wide so if it is in a mixed border keep it towards the back of the border or if it is further forward contain its height. It makes a great loose hedge because it is dense and evergreen. It is not apt for use as a tight cut hedge).
