I do the first styling, root prune and plant my Dawn Redwood tree to get it started as a bonsai. I visit three full size Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia) trees to get some styling inspiration for my bonsai.
I'm trying to extend the outdoor growing season for my tropical trees by a month in spring. With cold nights ahead, can I keep my greenhouse warm enough at night to keep the trees alive?
In part 2 of this series, I'll be studying the Coastal Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) and working on my miniature version.
