In Japan, where four-beat tunes are most common and three-beat tunes are rarely heard, the three-beat waltz seems to be accepted with some special feeling.
Apparently, the three-beat rhythm stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and relaxes the mind, and when I heard this, I understood that this was the reason for the unique feeling I had when I heard the waltz.
