About the Animation.
This project was my final project for my 3 year course at University where I studied Design and Creative Practise and Animation, and had almost caused a serious mental breakdown behind the scenes. I am so pleased to note that the outcome of it is exactly how I originally visioned it which is something that rarely happens with my projects. The aim was to make a stop motion animation in a pastiche form to the work of Ivor Wood, known for his work on the TV series Postman Pat. A lot of research had gone into this project to get the look right.

At first the animation wasn't going to have the leading character, Eric, have a voice. But after many twisting of arms from my tutor, I gave in and Eric speaks in the final edit.

It was also during this time I was going through a very stressful time with the loss of my grandfather, who died during the making of this animation. But the main stress was from my university, who always kept making changes in terms of attendance times and when classes were on or not. And because I live 2 hours' journey from the university, it doesn't help matters. Many of the shots in this film were filmed either during the day or long passed midnight.

The other problem was getting permission from Phil Coulter to use his track 'Coultergeist' for this animation, which was another instruction from my tutors when they first heard the music that was going to be used. After a few weeks with no reply, I received an email from Phil Coulter himself giving his blessing to have the track used, with the only [fee being a copy of the final edit. It was only when I was doing my evaluation of the project that my tutors revealed that they were good friends with Phil Coulter and that they could have asked him directly without the problems I had. I tell you, I had a lot to say after this was told to me. But we had a good laugh in the end.

Anyways. I hope you enjoy the animation and if you have any question please let me know in the comments. Thank you.
