First tournament of Hang-gliding took place about 28-29 years back at Billing Bir in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh in India. In this tournament participants flew from Billing up to CSKHPKV( Agriculture University) ground Palampur. Later on Hang-gliding was discontinued and Paragliding was started. Since then this event is taking place at Bir almost every year. Because of this Bir has become famous all over the world.
