We decided to be adventurous and took the famous train ride that passes through the beautiful Hai Van Pass to go from Da Nang to Hue. In about 3 hours we arrived in Hue city and from there it was a short taxi ride to the home stay that we booked.

The Sweethouse 2 Homestay is hidden away in the street but very well located, with the hustle and bustle of Hue within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay here a lot and the owner and staff are very lovely to talk to and run the home-stay very well.

Hue is a city that is unfortunately skipped in many Vietnam travel itineraries, but is definitely a must see. There are many fascinating and historical sights to visit such as the Imperial City (the Citadel), the Thien Mu Pagoda and the royal tombs! Hue is a city with a lot of historical significance in Vietnam, one that is often overshadowed by its more recent past.
