Harvard University has a total of 80 libraries, among which the Widener Memorial Library is the main library and an iconic building. The library's story may be related to the world-renowned Titanic, making it one of the most legendary libraries at Harvard.

There are 27 steps from the ground to the library's main entrance, and many people may not know the significance of these 27 steps: they are a tribute to Harvard student Harry Elkins Widener, who died at the age of 27 along with his father in the sinking of the Titanic. Widener's mother, devastated by the loss of her son and husband, donated books and funds to build the memorial library.

On the evening of April 14, 1912, the world's largest luxury liner, the Titanic, departed from Southampton, England, and sank after colliding with an iceberg, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,500 people, including Harvard student Harry Widener, who was among the victims of the disaster.
