On a cloudy fall October day when the sun broke for just a few minutes we flew our drone toward Carl Island from The Elms Region on the north shore of Sandy Pond. With the glare on the water we fly our drone backwards to expose the incredible growth of Carl Island. The island itself was at one time just that green portion in the video with vegetation but has grown from sand washed in from Lake Ontario. The sandbar around Carl Island makes boat access to Lake Ontario challenging and even more so in the fall with the additional lower water level.
