G'day Guys and Gals!

In todays video the family and I explore some local tracks really close to home. The area we are exploring in todays video is Brooyar State Forest and Glastonbury Creek Camping Area. We then find our way up into the hills and check out the Point Pure Lookout.

Glastonbury Creek Campground is an incredible campsite located in Brooyar State Forest. The campground is amazing green grass with some toilets and fire pits. We tackled the 4WD track directly off the end of the campsite. This track follows along the creek and then heads off into the bush. The trail offers some moderate challenges and would suit a vehicle with at least a small lift kit and slightly larger off-road tyres. I let my Falken Wildpeak AT3s down to 18PSI. This gave me extra traction to tackle the rock steps, washouts and muddy crossings without any issues.

There are multiple different fire trails and 4wd tracks in Brooyar State Forest. They all vary in difficulty from easy fire trails to some harder 4wd tracks. The Glastonbury Creek Campground is a perfect spot for the family, located right on the Creek it is a great spot to swim or spend some time exploring. There are also a few lookouts in the area with some incredibly views. Point pure lookout is the main lookout in the area. There are some spectacular views and abseiling and rock climbing anchors are fitted into the rocks for the avid climber. Eagles Nest lookout is a smaller lookout along the trail but still boast some spectacular views.

I have modified my Isuzu Mu-x over the last 3 years to be the ultimate touring vehicle and day tripping vehicle for our family. We enjoy getting outdoors on the weekends and exploring our local national parks and 4wd tracks. The mu-x is fitted with a 2 inch lift kit and some 275/70r17 Falken wildpeak AT3 tyres. This setup has been working well over the last few years and is a great compromise between on road handling and off-road capability.

I find that when I take my 4wd 2018 Isuzu Mu-x off-road it is best to turn off the Traction control system. The system doesn't work very well and I find that is usually causes more harm then good. With the traction control system turned off and the vehicle in low range we can get stuck into the 4wding. It is important to remember to drop your tyre pressures when going off-road, this increases the tyres footprint size and also the tyres resistance to puncturing over sharp objects. When tackling off-road tracks ensure low range 4wd is selected and take obstacles slowly, allow the tyres and the suspension to do the work. If required for muddy sections select 2nd gear low range and give a little bit of momentum to get through.

I have fitted every modification to the Isuzu MU-X myself and really enjoy filming and teaching you guys how to do the same to your own 4x4 vehicles. The modifications I have done are listed below -
