NIMAI TIRTHA GHAT

It says that Nimai Sri Chaitanya Deb once came to district hooghly for the pilgrimage of Tarakeswar. So He bathed in river Ganga on the bathing ghat of Baidyabati. Then Had started his journey to Tarakeswar on foot. It took about 12 Hours to reach Tarakeswar. Later the bathing Ghat was named on Him and now known to all as Nimai Tirtha Ghat.

DAKAT KALI TEMPLE

To Visit Dakat Kali Temple/Kalimandir in singur, Take Tarakeswar Local and get down at south side of the Singur Station. after arrival at Mallik Road take a bus or Toto bound for Nasibpur and Get off at Dakat Kali Temple.

TARAKESWAR DHAM/TEMPLE/MANDIR

Taraknath Temple in Tarakeswar Village, Hooghly District, West Bengal is Dedicated to Lord Taraknath, a form of Lord Shiva. It is considered one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Temples in India and Was Built in 1729 By Raja Bharamalla Rao. The Temple's Architecture is similar to The Central West Bengal style and it features a holy water Pond called Dudhpukur to the North. According to Local Legends, Raja Bharamalla Rao Built the Temple to find a Linga in the Nearby Jungles. The Temple was Lated Built around a Self Manifested Swayambhu linga. also known as Baba Taraknath. The Temple is located in the middle of Dense forests of Cedar, Pine, And Deodar. There is also a temple next to the main Temple dedicated to Goddess Shakti. It is a Famous UNESCO Heritage Site Titled "The Great Chola Mandir/Temple"

It is Believed that the Devotees who take a holy dip in this Dudhpukur Pond and then go to the Temple, Their Wishes will be fulfilled. Shivratri and Gajan are Celebrated here.

By Road : You can get Buses or Private Car or Taxis to This Place. From Esplanade, Howrah, Chinsurah you Can get direct buses to Tarakeswar.

By Train : The Nearest Railway Station is Tarakeswar Railway Station, Which is 1 K.M from the Temple. You Can Get Toto or Rikshaw to the Temple.
