One HECK of a scooter adventure! 🌻 4088 winding curves completed ✅

We started the journey from Chiang Mai where we rented our scooter a day before we left. The scooters clocked kms was at 89179 before we set off 🏞

We did the loop anti clockwise. People usually do it clockwise with the first destination being Doi Inthanon / Mae Sariang, but we wanted to head for Pai first 🌾

We conquered 762 curves on the first leg, 128kms to Pai via the 1095.

After exploring Pai for a few weeks, we hit the road again and headed for Mae Hong Son City 🌆 This was our favourite part of the loop 🔁 and was the prettiest drive 🧡 We visited the temple on the hill in Mae Hong Son city & saw some incredible views!

2224 curves complete ✅ about 238kms on the loop!

Next stop was Mae Sariang via the 108 route, the longest leg of our journey at 163kms which took us 3 hours & 30 minutes from Mae Hong Son 🌿 We stayed on the Yuam River in a little treehouse 🫶🏻

To complete the loop, we headed for Doi Inthanon National Park where we drove to the highest point in Thailand! 2585 meters above sea level ⛰️ It wasnt the best conditions so turned out to be a bit of a fail but nonetheless we had a great time and did what we set out to do!

After two nights on the outskirts of the park we ended our journey back in Chiang Mai where we started, to officially complete the incredible Mae Hong Son Loop! 🧡

All accommodation was booked last minute & we got very lucky with the places we chose! 🏨

We stayed by a rice paddy 🌾 in Pai, we had a lovely loft room in Mae Hong Son with a view of the Wat Phra That Doi Kongmu on the hill 🌿 a relaxing treehouse overlooking the Yuam River in Mae Sariang & best of all the bungalow above the rice paddy near Doi Inthanon National Park 🌾🌿

Total kms on the loop : 716kms / 445miles

1061kms in total over 3 weeks on our northern loop adventure 🏞
