Post-War Germany was barely a functioning state. Communist uprisings occurred all over the country and the freikorps were called in to put them down. Even after the initial flare-ups, the nation was far from stable. When Adolf Hitler tried to speak in public, he was attacked and harassed. The Sturmabteilung was founded to try to protect the meetings and bring the fight back to the communists.

What was the SA? Who was Ernst Rohm? What happened at the Night of the Long Knives? What did the SA actually do? What did they do AFTER Rohm's death? I'll answer all of these questions and more in this video.
