THE GATOR YOU DON'T SEE... could be the one who attacks.
Florida's Silver Springs is one of our favorite state parks not only in the Sunshine State, but in the entire nation. Besides boasting some of the cleanest & clearest fresh water on earth, it is the birthplace of the iconic 'Glass Bottom Boat'.
We recommend anyone - who doesn't want nature 'Disney-fied' -visit this local beauty. And bring the entire family.
Just keep your eyes open.
On a recent visit - after hiking every trail & kayaking for most of our final day - we opted to end our 3 day mini vaca by Glass Bottom Boating it.
Saw lots of fish, uncountable birds, underwater areas where some Hollywood movies were made, a couple of monkeys & more than a few alligators.
But we were surprised to see one of the biggest gators we've ever seen, calmly resting behind a wall - within eye shot of the GBB's dock, watching all the paddle boarders, kayaker, canoeists & GBB peeps float by.
Of course, after our ride, we walked over for a closer look.....
