Often referred to as the "California" to Seoul's "New York," Busan is the country's second largest city and is located on the southern edge of the peninsula. The city, while large and bustling, is nestled right between a mountain range and the Sea of Japan. This means there are lots of opportunities for hiking, easily accessible via the city's metro system.

Our first hike in Korea was in Geumgang Park. Instead of hiking up the mountains, we caught a cable car for some impressive views on the way to the top. From there, we walked through the woods to Seokbulsa temple, which is famous for huge buddhist carvings (the largest in Korea) on the cliff rocks. The temple is also outside of the major "tourist trail," so we got to enjoy it completely to ourselves for a while - a very cool and unique experience.

Along the trail, we were also distracted by a few little side-adventures. Enjoy!
