The new Rust recoil came and I got to work learning how to control the new MP5!

A year ago I made a video where I spent 100 hours learning the old recoil pattern for the MP5. The video did really well and I had a full year of MP5 use after it.

However FacePunch have released their combat update, meaning that all the hard work from the last video is gone and we’re back facing the prospect of learning a new way to control the MP5.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to do exactly that, than spend another 100 hours grinding it out

The old system had me learning a single pattern by repetition. This new combat system will have me on a long journey to discover what parts are learnable, where the new skill gaps lie and all in all just looking to get confident behind an MP5 again

In this video i'll go over some of the changes to the recoil, what to expect and some tips and tricks on starting out with the mp5 and the new rust recoil / combat update. I'll look at attachments and how they impact sway, aimcone and recoil severity and discuss how only 20% of all shots will fall on target under the new rules.

I sped through hours of practice to get up to scratch and hopefully motivate some of you to do the same!

Rust is an open world survival game available on PC and in Beta on Console (Xbox and PlayStation). The goal of the game is to design and build bases, gather resources and defend your loot against other players, groups and zergs. Play through the primitive early game and make it to end-game PVP with tier 3 weapons over the span of a wipe.
