Dead Mall: Columbia Place Mall - Columbia, SC. Enjoy a drive around and walk inside of this large aesthetic mall just northeast of the state capital of South Carolina. At nearly 1,100,000 square feet in size, it is one of the largest malls in the state. Sadly, the mall has been in decline for many years. Moonbeam Capital Investments taking over the mall in 2014 did not help at all. Amazingly, in 2023, despite being dead, the mall still looks great and in good condition inside. Hopefully, it'll stay this way for a while, but sadly, given Moonbeam's track record, it's only a matter of time until it looks like their other mall properties the company has neglected.
