There was no doubt Vladimir Putin would win the presidential election...but how did he engineer his victory? How strong is his support among Russians? How will his victory affect their daily lives? And what does Putin's win mean in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine?

Our guest will be Maria Lipman, Senior Visiting Fellow at the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies of the George Washington University. She is in charge of the PONARS Eurasia Podcast and is Co-Editor of the Institute’s newly launched website Russia.Post. The discussion will be moderated by Jill Dougherty, CERES Fellow and Former CNN Moscow Bureau Chief.

The Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies (CERES) would like to thank the Carnegie Corporation of New York for generous support of our programming.
