In this video, we are summer crappie fishing with live minnows. I show you how I hook my live minnows for crappie fishing and WHY I choose to do so. The main reason why I "thread" my minnows on, is because the bluegill will take that minnow off with ease, if it is hooked through the back or the tail. Even though that minnow is threaded on the hook, not only can that minnow still move, crappie can still sense the distress signal that minnow is giving in the water. I am also "popping" that minnow back to me under the cork to give it more of a lively action. Minnows will be your best summer crappie fishing bait, PERIOD!
