Amigurumi Tutorial: Lightyear
-----------------------------------------------
In this video we explain step by step how to weave this brave space guardian.
The tutorial includes the pattern and explanations so as not to lose detail on how to do it, round by round and stitch by stitch.
It is knitted with intermediate thickness wool and with a hook with a much smaller number than the one recommended for that material (2.5mm).
It takes about 18 or 20 hours to make it, and with the material that has been used in the video, it has a height of approximately 63cm.
Materials: about 300gr/350gr of white, which is the color that is most used, 150gr/180gr of black, 50gr/80gr of violet, 80gr/100gr of green, 30gr/50gr of grey, 80gr/100gr of brown, 50gr/ 80gr of light skin color. They are approximate amounts, because the truth is that I do not take accounts of what I am using. Acrylic paint and colored felt or cloth have also been used for details,
It is not designed to stand up, it is a soft doll, but it can be reinforced in the legs or an internal structure to keep it rigid. It's a big project though and may not stand up very straight.
It is a piece that requires a lot of work and patience, but the result is great.

SAFETY RULES TO REMEMBER: remember that if the recipient will be a boy or a small girl, it is not advisable to use pieces such as plastic eyes (even if they are safety) or buttons, since they could come loose and cause suffocation. It is also not advisable to use glues that are not harmless (remember that cold silicone, for example, is tremendously toxic)
