Today I take the opportunity to guide you through the items necessary to help you on your path to restoring and customising diecasts yourself! It really is an easier hobby to get started with than you might think.

For the purposes of this video, I take the gorgeous 34A Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Microvan. There's no drilling and tapping required with this simple model. Just a bit of bending and levering of the split rivet that holds the base in place. Then I talk through the items required while showing you all the steps as ever.

As restorations go, this one is up there for me as one of my best. Simple, effective, and really wears its new trim well. The colour of the reproduction decals really contrast the Ford Electric/Monza Blue used on the body. Hopefully the result will inspire others to take a stab at this hobby and see where it takes them!
