Located near Auckland in New Zealand, Hūnua falls is a popular attraction, with a leisurely walk of about 15 minutes.

This 30 meter high horsetail waterfall is formed when the Wairoa River falls over a basalt lava plug.

A national icon for all New Zealanders, Kauri Trees have been threatened by the Kauri dieback disease. Showing symptoms of root rot, bleeding resin and yellowing leaves, this disease eventually kills the trees.

The Hunua Ranges are home to the largest area of healthy Kauri. To prevent the spread of kauri dieback, large sections of the Hunua Ranges Regional Park are now closed. Please stay on the walking tracks, and follow the instructions to clean your shoes before and after your visit.
