In this episode, my guest Yuichi Asaba will give us a tour of Noko Island that only a resident can! We’ll take a short ferry ride, tastes the local citrus, visit a blueberry farm, pet some emu (birds), see some small local shops and cafes, talk to locals, walk down backstreets, and enjoy a view of Fukuoka’s skyline from the ferry on Hakata Bay.

Yuichi Asaba is a product planner who moved onto Nokonoshima (Noko Island) in 2009, where four of his children were born. Along with his wife, they help small businesses around Kyushu brand and market products such as beverages and sweets based on local ingredients. He’s been a friend and supporter of Fukuoka Now for many, many years, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy seeing a bit of his world on this tiny island, just minutes away from Fukuoka City.
