Teamster UPS drivers are dying from the refusal of UPS to get air conditioning on the trucks and other workers face deadly peril on the job from the heat wave.
IBT 396 William Pina in Los Angeles called out UPS and IBT officials for refusing to strike against the deaths of UPS drivers on the trucks. He also said the Cal-OSHA is refusing to enforce health and safety heat standards that UPS regularly violates. There are less than 200 Ca-OSHA inspectors in California for 18 million workers.
We also hear from Los Angeles Roofers Local 36 member Andres Tinajero who talks about the deadly conditions for roofers in this dangerous continuous heat wave hitting LA, US and the world.
