W.C.S.D.O. - Dr. Karl Coke's - Sermon Outline - 06/20/22
"Ye Shall Be Witnesses"
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Premise: Jesus asks His disciples to witness as He witnessed. To do that, Jesus baptized His disciples with the same power that He possessed. Furthermore, Jesus only asked of His disciples that which He had already done.
Purpose: To motivate Believers to witness for Jesus. To show how to witness. To show to whom to witness. To show how to follow up with those whom accept Jesus.
Power: Great Commission: "... an instruction, command or duty given to a person or group of people." Read: Matthew 28:18-20

Conclusion: Jesus had all power to be a witness. He gave His power to all of His disciples to also be witnesses. He showed His disciples that He was a "living witness" and a "speak- ing witness" in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth. There- fore, He asked all of His disciples to do as He did. Do not witness in your own strength!
