Welcome. In this video I will be restoring an old rusty hand cranked grinder.

This project at first glance was going to be a pretty straight forward one, however almost immediately the handle broke off of it, and that just about sums up how the whole disassembly went. Many of the parts were very rusted to the grinder, especially the nut that held the grinding stone on. Furthermore, at some point in the past the table clamp had been repaired, and the bolts that attached it to the main body of the grinder were ground down carriage bolts, making it much more difficult to remove them.

Overall there was a large amount of work that went into this restoration, but I'm very satisfied with the results and it was great fun bringing it back to life.
