Welcome to the 2nd Part of my 2022 Golden Week Vacation.
In the first part, I visited beautiful places in Fukushima like Ouchi Juku and Goshikinuma. In this 2nd part, I visited the neighboring prefecture, Yamagata. Please enjoy the video 😘

Yamagata Prefecture (山形県) is a prefecture of Japan located in the Tōhoku region. Yamagata is the capital and largest city, with other major cities including Tsuruoka, Sakata, and Yonezawa. Yamagata Prefecture is located on Japan's western Sea of Japan coast and its borders with neighboring prefectures are formed by various mountain ranges, with 17% of its total land area being designated as Natural Parks. Yamagata Prefecture formed the southern half of the historic Dewa Province with Akita Prefecture and is home to the Three Mountains of Dewa, which includes the Haguro Five-story Pagoda, a recognised National Treasure of Japan.

My Itinerary:
1st Day - Technically this is the 4th day of my vacation, but 1st day in Yamagata, soooo.
Anyway, I drove to Yamagata from my hotel in Fukushima for 1hr. First stop is the temple, Risshakuji, or more commonly known as Yamadera, which translates to Mountain Temple. Because this temple extends across a steep mountain side☺️
After this, I actually had lunch in my car (McDonald drive thru because not enough time 🤣), and went directly to Ginzan onsen, a hot spring town hidden within the mountains.

2nd Day - For my last day, my plan was go to Okama crater then head to Zao onsen. Unfortunately, there was an accident along the road to the crater. I caused a congestion that last 5hrs. So I have to cancel Zao onsen because I still have to drive home for another 5hrs 🥲
Anyway, the craters amazing. It still has ice sheets at the surface, pretty much covering the pond. Still it was surreal. Another shrine in the Kattadake peak just 10min. from the crater makes for a worthwhile hike.

Hope you enjoy my video as I share my travels across Japan. As for my next video, I will visit another onsen(hot spring) town near Mt. Fuji, so stay tuned for that 😍
