Jeff Beck is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He began his musical career in 1965 by joining the British rock band The Yardbirds. During his years with The Yardbirds, Beck helped shape the band's sound by introducing elements of blues and jazz into their music, as well as using innovative improvisational techniques.
Beck's debut with The Yardbirds was marked by extensive touring across the UK and Europe, as well as the recording of several classic albums, such as 'For Your Love' (on a few tracks) and ' Having a Rave Up" and the last in 1966 "Roger the Engineer". During this period Beck also performed with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page forming a line-up that has become legendary in music history.
Jeff Beck was chosen to replace Eric Clapton in the group, who had left to devote himself to his group Cream. Chosen also for his virtuosity and his more innovative and energetic playing style, which quickly brought a new dimension to the band's music. He was also the first to incorporate electronic effects such as distortion and reverb into his playing, opening up new sonic possibilities in rock music.
Jeff Beck's debut with the Yardbirds was instrumental in his musical career and in the history of rock music in general. Because he was the first to integrate all these elements, influencing many other guitarists to follow his example and explore new playing techniques. And propelling him to stardom in his later solo career.
