Tubing mascaras are all the rage right now. Most major brands have one (or more).

They’re quickly becoming fan favourites thanks to their technology which wraps each lash pigment (rather than coating like traditional mascaras). The result is dark, pigmented lashes that resist smudging and flaking.

This makes them for mature women who struggle with mascara transfer to their lids and undereye.

Plus, tubing mascara removes easily with warm water.

Today I’m reviewing two luxury brands tubing mascaras:
Tarte: XL
Younique: Quadra

I had so much fun reviewing these 2️⃣ mascaras and sharing my thoughts with you!

Please keep in mind, these are just MY thoughts! We all have different preferences, priorities, likes and dislikes.

My review in a nutshell (watch the video for more details):
✨ I love tubing mascaras and these both deliver excellent results in regards to no smudging, no flaking and easy to remove
✨ both mascaras are on the pricey side - they actually work out to about the same when you factor in the price of lash serum
✨ I prefer the volume and length from the Tarte XL
✨ I prefer the fanned out, clump free look of the Younique Quadra
✨I was able to get the best of both when I layered them and wore them together - not exactly practical (or affordable) though

Bottom line - they did what a tubing mascara is supposed to do. I love that Quadra has lash serum integrated into the mascara. But given the price of both the XL and Quadra, I expect more.

I’m on the hunt for a more economical option that delivers major volume. I’ll be sure to share with you when I do! (Or tell me your holy grail tubing mascara).
