The Flowing Garden stands out distinctly from most contemporary private residences in China. Owned by two entrepreneurial brothers, this 3-acre rectangular plot features short sides to the north and south, extending towards the road in the north and the sea in the south. The surrounding area includes existing buildings on the eastern and western plots. A 30-meter-wide municipal windbreak forest belt, densely planted with she-oak, separates the site from the beach. While this forest belt obstructs the direct sea view, it effectively shields the property from the impacts of powerful typhoons. The brothers envision a private residence divided into three distinct sections: two independent living areas for each family and a shared leisure space for gatherings, meetings, fitness, and various activities. They also aspire for this newly constructed home to serve as a repository for the family's memories, preserving their legacy for future generations.
