In this episode, we will cover all the historic temples, waterfalls as well as local Karnataka cuisines that came on our route from Udupi to Sringeri. We covered the following:
a) Sri Ananthapadmanabha Temple, Perdoor, Udupi district, Karnataka:
Located at a distance of 25 km from Udupi city and 32 km from Hebri town, this historic temple dates back to 6th to 7th century and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu where Shri Anantha Padmanabha swamy idol has been consecrated inside the sanctum sanctorum. It can also be called “Banana Temple of India” for its unique feature as devotees offer hundreds of bananas to the Lord as their wishes get granted by the Lord.
b) Bhattara Hotel, Hebri, Karnataka: To taste authentic local Karnataka cuisines, we reached at this hotel located opposite to State Bank of India branch in the Hebri town which is important junction. This city’s location leads to various important cities including Kollur, Dharmasthala, Anegudde, Maravanthe Beach, Karkala, and Brahmavara etc.
Meals:: Rs. 60/- per plate (Subject to change)

c) Agumbe Village: Then we reached Agumbe, which is also home to Someshwara Wildlife sanctuary where one can easily spot King Cobra in abundance. This high-altitude village is also marked by western ghat mountains and lush rainforests besides many waterfalls, such as Onake Abbi, Bakarna and Jogi Gundi falls. We visited Sirimane Falls located at 5 km from Kigga village
d) Sri Rishyasringeshwara Temple, Kigga: This temple holds a divine significance as common folks and celebrities from all spectrum of lives pay their homage in this temple in case the region receives less amount of rainfall.
e) We ended our journey by reaching prominent seat of Hindu Sanatan Dharma, Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthana Dakshinamnaya Shri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri Matha, Karnataka.
