My difficult head studs were extracted eventually to repair these expensive Porsche heads without paying an arm and a leg. In my case the steel studs were so corroded, I had no choice but to drill a few of the broken studs out. I tried everything included heat, welded on washers and nuts, spiral extractors, straight extractors, left handed drill bit, penetrating oil, bees wax, dental pics, thread chasers, etc. This is a tought job especially since the usual stud remover tools won't fit due to the air cooled fins on the Porsche heads. UGH, but I got all twelve out without a single helicoil.
